Holiday reading

All sorts of magazines came in last week, you can see most of them by following this link.

Zoetrope All Story's guest designer is Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, who in days before Sonic Youth was in a band with Jeff Rabid, editor for the last 30 years of The Big Takeover magazine.

Maximum Rock N Roll is doing a Punk Comics issue, which includes Jaime Hernandez (Love & Rockets)

Signal to Noise writes about a student run radio station's struggles to survive.

Bomb is an art, music, photography, film magazine with a lot of text.  You can find it in our Pop Culture section, near the Music, Art, and Film sections.

Juxtapoz just has an awesome cover and Michelle recommends it.

ID , back to the future issue.  You can also find it in our Pop Culture section, but if you just are interested in really creative fashion photography it may hit the spot.  Founded 30 years ago by former Vogue art director Terry Jones, the magazine started out in classic zine format, hand stapled with typewriter text.

And a completely different direction, Hobby Farms writes about how to grow nut trees.  If you are successful, you can watch Cat or Dog lurking below while Squirrel and Blue Jay tussle above over the bounteous nut supply.  (You might also check out their sister publication, Urban Farm)
