Matthew's Meanderings

Announcer:
"Hello, Boys and Girls,
Today on the Ave, we'll be featuring the letter 'M.' There are many interesting things that begin with 'M.' Let's ponder a few of them, shall we?"

Holy Crud, it must be another jam-packed episode of Matthew's Meanderings!

'M' is for "Mother Jones," which continues to cause quite a stir with Sarah Palin as the 50-Foot-Woman terrorizing America's Middle Class (hey, another 'M' word!) I think our gigantic lighted poster has something to do with the uptick in sales, but I can't be sure ;-)

Speaking of strong women, 'M'arge Simpson graces the cover of the new issue of "Utne Reader" doing her best Rosie the Riveter impression. I've always liked "Utne Reader," and this issue doesn't disappoint. There are articles about getting the country working again, the world's weirdest art museum, the census and a lovely article from "Tricycle" about Jeff "the Dude" Bridges (it seems every magazine is required to have an article about Jeff Bridges these days).

'M'onocle came out with their second special edition in newspaper format. "Monocle Alpino" celebrates Winter throughout the world. Read about cool radio stations in far-flung places. Ogle some snazzy new threads that would keep you warm while trying not to break a leg at the Summit at Snoqualmie. Finally figure out where the heck Andorra is AND what it looks like! Get high sniffing the special paper this fine publication is printed on (Tyler Brule, what are you doing to us?!). It's all right here in the oversized pages of "Monocle Alpino."

Finally, 'M' is for mugs, and not a moment too soon. The carabiner mugs that have been missing for what seems like ages now have magically resurfaced and are better than ever. The print is clearer, the seal is tighter, the carabiner is silverer (is that a word?-ed.). What are you all waiting for? Get in here and get yours now. The holidays are upon us. Do you want to impress all your friends? Do you want to make your loved one feel extra-special this year? What better way to say "I love you" than with a brand-spanking-new travel coffee mug from Bulldog News? You can't think of one, can you?!? I didn't think so...

Well, I think I've gone on long enough for this week. If you check in regularly, you've seen some of this before, but was it this entertaining the first time around? I doubt it.

Anyway, have yourselves a happy holiday season, whether you already partied for eight nights during Hanukkah, you're greedily rubbing your hands together thinking of what Santa will bring you for Christmas (a shiny new coffee mug, perhaps?), you are ready to light the seven candles on your Kwanzaa kinara, or you're just itching to open your box from the master of the house on Boxing Day.

Regards from all of us at Bulldog News.

Matthew
