A new quarterly concern from McSweeneys, ongoing collaboration for the travel foodie among us. Created by NY Momofuku's David Chang and Peter Meehen. Each issue will focus on a theme, issue 2 will be "The Sweet Spot", but this first issue is RAMEN.
Highlights are Anthony Bourdain discussing David Chang's career in terms of such classic food movies as Ramen Girl and Tampopo. I haven't seen Ramen Girl, but Tampopo,by the late Juzo Itami, is a must see. (A few hints, "noodle western", truck driver ramen master, a virtuous but hapless ramen stand owner, a yakuza and his food mistress.)
And of course, Lucky Peach has recipes galore.
